How to Submit Your Entry

Please follow the steps below to submit your entry for the Nwamaka Okoye Literature Prize. Ensure you have read and understood the competition rules and guidelines before proceeding.

Step 1: Choose Your Category
Poetry: You may submit up to 2 poems per entry. Each poem should not exceed 40 lines.
Short Story: Submit one short story not exceeding 2,500 words.

Step 2: Entry Fee Payment
An entry fee of N2,000 is required for each submission. Payment details and instructions are provided in subsequent pages.

Step 3: Prepare Your Submission
Ensure your submission(s) adhere to the specified guidelines:

1. The work must be original and unpublished.

2. Written in English.

3. Submitted in PDF format, with the file named after the title of your submission.

4. Your manuscript should not include any personal information to maintain anonymity during the judging process.

Step 4: Fill Out the Submission Form
Complete the submission form with your contact details and any other required information. If you are under 18, ensure you have a consent form signed by a parent or guardian.

Step 5: Upload Your Work
Upload your PDF file(s) using the upload section below. If submitting to the poetry category, you may upload up to 2 files.

Step 6: Confirmation
After submitting your entry, you will receive a confirmation email with the details of your submission. Please keep this for your records.

Scholarship Application

If you cannot afford the entry fee, please send an email to competition@gearshiftafrica.com to request a scholarship application form. Ensure to include: "SCHOLARSHIP" in the subject line.

Deadline for Submissions

All submissions must be received by April 7. Late entries will not be accepted.
